Hey friends! So today I want to share an easy DIY transformation and styling of a new(to me) piece that I picked up at the local thrift store recently.
This month I am joining a couple of ladies to share our thrift store transformations with you guys. Be sure to check their blogs out that are part of this special monthly Blog Hop. You will just love their DIYs! Thank you to Leslie at A Heart Filled Home for starting this monthly blog hop with us!
So here is the piece before I started working on it. It was a real reddish wood toned piece but we saw the potential in it. My hubby picked it out and I thought it was so perfect for this! I knew immediately I would simply paint it, distress it and then style it pretty for my girls to have in their playroom next to their crafting desk.
This piece is originally from Pottery Barn and was marked at $15. with 20% off! **SCORE**
I decided to paint it green to go with a sign we already have in their room. I chose the color Moss by Waverly chalk paint(sold at walmart) because that is what I had on hand. I did a quick two coats which took all of a half hour. Then I took a piece of sandpaper to the edges to distress it and make it look older. This was such a fun project and I just love the way it came out. I may end up using antiquing wax to make it look even older, but I am still undecided! This was such an easy DIY and it just shows that with a little paint, you can transform anything!
I took some greenery, some of my girls artwork, their crayons and pencils and styled it up! I hope you enjoyed this easy DIY transformation of this cute little kids command center!
